At dooApp, we continuously improve our solutions to provide professionals with reliable, compliant, and high-performance tools.
The FireProtection 5.1.33 release introduces several important fixes that improve calculation accuracy and overall software stability.
These improvements allow users to work with greater confidence when performing tests and calculations related to fire safety systems.
Why these updates matter
In the field of fire safety, calculation accuracy and data consistency are essential. Software used by professionals must deliver reliable results to ensure compliance with current standards and secure installations.
FireProtection, developed by dooApp, was designed to support professionals in measuring and calculating retention time during fire tests, particularly in the context of VentiTest procedures. This solution helps improve risk management and ensures compliance with European regulatory requirements.
The 5.1.33 update fixes several issues reported by users, improving both usability and the reliability of calculations.
Fixes included in FireProtection 5.1.33
Fix FP-198: incorrect calculation methods available for CO₂ systems
Fix FP-198: incorrect calculation methods available for CO₂ systems
Users reported an issue when selecting certain calculation methods for initial and minimum concentrations. In these cases, the values were not recalculated correctly.
The issue occurred when the following methods were selected:
For the initial concentration:
- Design concentration
- Calculated from extinguishant quantity
For the minimum concentration:
- Calculated from design concentration
- Extinguishing concentrationConcentration d’extinction
However, when CO₂ is used as the extinguishing agent, these calculation methods should not be available.
The fix ensures that when CO₂ is selected as the extinguishing agent, these calculation methods are no longer offered in the software.
In this case, the initial and minimum concentrations must be entered manually by the user, which is the only valid method for CO₂ systems.
Fix FP-199: disappearance of the “required protected height” value
Some users reported that the “required protected height” value disappeared after restarting the software.
This display issue could create confusion when reviewing project parameters.
The fix implemented in version 5.1.33 ensures that this value is now properly saved and displayed, even after restarting the software.
Fix FP-200: adjustment of the He calculation according to VdS 3877
An issue was identified in the equivalent height (He) calculation when performed according to the VdS 3877 standard and when the required protected height equals 90% of the total height.
This update corrects the calculation to ensure results comply with the expected methodology defined by the standard.
Users can now rely on more accurate and compliant results.
Other improvements
This version also includes several technical fixes improving the overall stability of the software:
- IN-6469: fixed an issue where some projects downloaded from the cloud did not appear on the home screen after import (refresh issue).
- IN-6520: fixed a possible freeze of the update utility that could remain stuck around 10% progress.
These fixes improve the reliability of project synchronization and the software update process.
